What a coincidence... Heidi Klum & Rihanna

En cuestión de un par de días, primero Heidi Klum en negro y luego Rihanna en marrón (si te suena el vestido de Christopher Kane que lleva es porque igual lo has visto a Julia Restoin Roitfeld).

Pero "examinándolo" en fotos de alta resolución te das cuenta que solamente se trataba de una ilusión visual. El suyo es de su diseñador favorito Elie Saab, de la colección de Otoño 2009, en la pasarela presentado en blanco y negro.

Lo que me encanta de los vestidos son los cortes geométricos con visibles pespuntes. Y si mi querida Dita hubiera dejado los guantes en casa y hubiera elegido otros zapatos, este post se llamaría "Love her look...". Espero que volveremos a verla en algún vestido más de esta colección. ¿El tercero quizás?

What I love, on both the black version and the two-tone ones are the topstitched geometrical cuts. And if my beloved Dita would leave those horrible gloves at home and picked a different pair of shoes, this post title would be "Love her look...". Hope to see her in more dresses from this collection. A third one would look lovely on her IMO.

La fundadora de este nuevo club era Heidi Klum que eligió las sandalias de plataforma Differa de Christian Louboutin para la carpeta roja de los Globos de Oro para darle un toque fetish a su look odiado por unos y amado por otros.

SFQ answers... Who was the best dressed?

Magdushka de Hungría me preguntó por el nombre de la fashion queen que más me llamó la atención en la alfombra roja de los Globos de Oro. Seguramente no much@s estaréis de acuerdo conmigo pues no he visto el nombre de la nena en ninguna de las múltiples listas de las mejores vestidas. A mí me ha parecido una apuesta ariesgada y un soplo de aire fresco.

Magdushka from Hungary asked me for the name of the fashion queen that attracted my attention the most on the Golden Globes red carpet. Most probably not many of you will agree with me since I didn't see her name on any of the numerous best dressed lists. But I find her choice risky and a breath of the fresh air.

Cuando vas a un evento de este porte, qué es lo que lleva todo el mundo? La mayoría luce vestidos largos y ajustados de las últimas colecciones de una lista de diseñadores prácticamente fija. Si una quiere destacar, opta o por un vestido corto o por un modelito voluminoso o por un diseñador "fuera de la lista" o por un color que con mucha probabilidad no llevará nadie más o por un modelito vintage. La que se lleva mi voto decidió combinarlo casi todo eligiendo un vestido corto, voluminoso y vintage de James Galanos. Y combinarlo con precisamente estas plataformas de Sr. Louboutin ha sido un acertazo. Atrevido, fresco, muy coqueto y sxy. ¡Un aplauso para Heidi Klum!

What is what all the ladies wear for the events like this? Mostly body hugging gowns, mostly from the latest collections of a the same pool of designers. If a lady wants to stand out, she has to opt for a shorter or short version of a dress or something voluminous or pick a designer "out of the pool", or chose a colour most probably nobody will do or go for a vintage. The one that has my vote has decided to combine almost all of this by rocking a short and voluminous vintage dress by James Galanos. And completing the look with precisely these Mr. Louboutin platform sandals was just the right choice. Daring, fresh and very sxy. My applause goes for Heidi Klum!

Next Celebrity Club: Louis Vuitton Tribal Parisienne

Cuando te comenté que estoy preparando este tema, este club aún no tenía su fundadora. El hecho de que en tan poco tiempo ya la tiene solamente confirma que mi sentido no me falló y que la siguiente socia la podemos esperar en breve. Cuando vi la colección de Louis Vuitton para la próxima temporada, la que su creador Marc Jacobs denomina Little Parisienne Princess, lo que me llamó la atención a la primera eran los zapatos y complementos. Y las primeras tres chicas que me imaginé llevando los zapatos eran Gwyneth Paltrow, Victoria Beckham y Gwen Stefani. Me encantaron las combinaciones de colores, materiales y acabados y ese toque tribu que respiraba toda la colección.

When I told you I was collecting material for this post, this club by then didn't have a founder yet. The fact we have the name already only proves me right and I feel we can expect the next member in no time. When I saw Louis Vuitton Spring 2009 collection that Marc Jacobs called reminiscent of a Little Parisienne Princess, what captured my attention at first were the accessories and shoes. And the first ladies I imagined wearing the shoes were Gwyneth Paltrow, Victoria Beckham and Gwen Stefani. I love the multi colour combinations, the mix of materials and finishes and that tribal chic touch of the whole collection.





A la que no me imaginé era a Madonna. No por una razón en concreto, simplemente no estaba en la lista de las que vinieron a mi mente inmediatamente, espontáneamente, sin pensarlo, de forma automática...

The one I didn't think about was Madonna. For no reason in particular, she simply was not on the top of my mind, on the list of girls that I thought about immediately, spontaneously, like automatically...


Ahora pienso que elegir a la reina de pop como cara de la próxima campaña ha sido todo un acertazo.

Now I think that having chosen the queen of the pop as the face for the Spring 2009 campaign was the greatest choice and I'm looking forward to see all the visuals.



Como forma parte de su contrato, a Madonna no le podemos adjudicar el título de fundadora de este club. Tampoco a Beyoncé pues ahí el punto se lo lleva el estilista.

Since promoting the brand is a part of her job, Madonna can't get the title of the founder of this club. Neither can Beyoncé cause here as usual the point goes to the stylist.

Primero Heidi Klum. Más tarde Jennifer Ellison y hace nada Jennifer Lopez. Tres mujeres muy diferentes eligieron el mismo vestido, y también coincidentalmente las tres también optaron por complementos negros.

Jennifer Lopez, en concreto, lució un par de taconazos de vértigo - por algo se llamarán de doble plataforma - de Yves Saint Laurent.

Ya que estamos, aprovecho para felicitar a Victoria Beckham por su nuevo corte. Si no me equivoco, la última vez lo tenía tan cortito hará unos 9 años. La foto es del año 2000. En ese momento Victoria desfilaba durante London Fashion Week para Maria Grachvogel. Pasaron ocho años y Victoria cumplió otro de sus sueños, presentar su primera colección de vestidos y no en cualquier lugar, sino en New York Fashion Week. ¡Felicidades!

Here I'd like to congratulate to Victoria Beckham for her new hair do. If I'm correct the last time she cut her hair this short was about 9 years ago. The picture is from 2000. Back then Victoria was making her catwalk debut for Maria Grachvogel at London Fashion Week. Eight years later Victoria made another dream of hers reality by presenting her own collection of dresses and she did her designer debut at New York Fashion Week. Congratulations!



Mira como me estoy enrollando... y eso que la protagonista de este post iba a ser Beyoncé... así que aquí viene. Vestida de RM by Roland Mouret. El mismo vestido que las otras tres fashion queens arriba pero en otro color. Además de elegir un color que aún no hemos visto a nadie, es la única que decidió lucir el vestido en una modificación más corta, justo por encima de las rodillas.

Back to the point... the protagonist of this post was ment to be Beyoncé... so here she comes. Dressed in RM by Roland Mouret Pigalle wool dress. The same the other three ladies above have chosen but in a different colour. On top of chosing a colour that was not spotted on any other famous fashion queen so far, she's also the only one that decided to wear a shorter version of the dress.
