90210 Gets Juicy This Week With A Big Reveal

The father of Kelly Taylor’s 4-year-old son Sammy will finally be revealed on Tuesday’s episode of 90210, PEOPLE has learned. And Brenda Walsh will be the one spilling the beans! Brenda (Shannen Doherty) and Kelly (Jennie Garth) will be having a serious conversation about Sammy’s dad when Brenda reveals his name. In another twist, the show’s executive producer Gabe Sachs told PEOPLE that there’s a “possibility” the baby’s father could appear on a future episode. Who it could be?

So far, Kelly has mentioned she knew him in high school and they have history together. The couple went their separate ways, but hooked up four years ago. Since then, he’s been out of the picture. In the series premiere, Kelly took a 3 a.m. phone call from Brandon who is now living in Belize. Their late-night talk was interrupted when Sammy walked in. Perhaps another clue?

Sachs and fellow executive producer Jeff Judah already know who they wanted to be the father, and also discussed it with Jennie. He said Shannen and Jennie were great about the news and had a lot of fun. “The two of them love being in on secrets,” he said. Fans will be in on the secret when it’s revealed Sept. 16, 8 p.m. ET on the CW.

E! Entertainment Television has picked up Keeping Up With the Kardashians for a third season. The reality series follows the lives of Los Angeles socialite Kim Kardashian and her siblings along with mom Kris and stepfather Bruce Jenner. Khloe K’s trip to the slammer will probably be part of the new season. E! has ordered 10 episodes for Season 3, which will debut in the first quarter. Season 2 of Keeping Up With the Kardashians averaged 1.6 million total viewers per episode, a 36% improvement over Season 1.

“Shannen Doherty will be returning to 90210,” Gabe Sachs, executive producer of the CW’s new spin-off, said during the Television Critics Association press tour in Beverly Hills on Saturday. “Shannen is looking forward to returning to 90210,” Shannen’s rep tells PEOPLE exclusively.

Shannen, who played the twin sister to Jason Priestley’s character Brandon Walsh for four seasons of the original Beverly Hills, 90210, will return as Brenda Walsh when the new show premieres Sept. 2. Now, Brenda will be a visiting drama teacher who directs a musical at West Beverly High School.

Jennie Garth was the first original 90210 cast member to reprise her role as Kelly Taylor, who will be a counselor who at West Beverly. Earlier this month, Tori Spelling, who played Donna Martin in the original, was also announced as a returning cast member but said she would be unable to appear in the pilot of the spin-off after giving birth to her daughter in June. “I’m looking forward to returning to 90210 in a later episode,” Tori told PEOPLE earlier this month. According to Sachs, original cast members won’t just have cameos. “They will be in multiple episodes,” he said at the TCA event.

90210 Adds Joe E. Tata (Nat) To The Cast

CW's 90210 spin-off is getting another familiar face: Peach Pit owner Nat! Actor Joe E. Tata tells the Associated Press that he just wrapped up shooting the pilot episode, airing September 2.He says he is still uncertain if he'll return to the show permanently. "The coin's in the air for me," the actor, 71, says. "I guess it comes under the heading of magic test: Let's see if the audience still remembers me."

Tata - who describes Nat as a good guy, always there to help out" - says people still stop him on the street after all these years. "Cops and firefighters say to me, 'I used to watch the show - I mean, my wife did, or girlfriend,'" he said. "But they knew more about the show than I did."

Jennie Garth, who played blonde rich girl Kelly Taylor on the original series, will star in several episodes as a high school guidance counselor. Tori Spelling will reprise her role as Donna Martin in one episode. And Shannen Doherty (a.k.a. "Brenda Walsh") is in talks to star on the show.
