Kristin Davis Reveals She Doesn't Drink Alcohol And Admires Angelina Jolie

She's known for sipping her share of Cosmos on Sex and the City, but in real life Kristin Davis steers clear of cocktails. "I’m a recovering alcoholic," the actress, 43, tells Health. "I’ve never hid it, but I’ve been sober the whole time I’ve been famous, so it wasn’t like I had to go to rehab publicly."

She says "it’s caused a lot of confusion out in the world. I get sent many a Cosmo! I never drink them. I believe [alcoholism] is a disease. I don’t think you can mess with it." She says people used to say to her "'Couldn’t you just have one glass of champagne? "And I would say, 'No,'" Kristin recalls. "I’m doing well. I still have occasional bad days. Why risk it?"

Unlike her family-oriented character, Charlotte York, Kristin says her No. 1 goal in life isn't to wed and have kids. Still she says, "I can relate to feeling the pressure society puts on a person. My family has never been focused on that for me. I’d love to have children, though. I’d also love to adopt a child — I think about it a lot."

Kristin — who works with Oxfam International to fight poverty — even cites Angelina Jolie as an inspiration. "I’ve met Angelina. I don’t know her well, but what she’s done is fantastic," she says. She adds, "I admire anyone who adopts children."

The First Premiere For Sex In The City Happens In London

Sarah Jessica Parker, Cynthia Nixon, Kristin Davis and Kim Cattrall were photographed arriving at the world premiere of Sex And The City held at the Odeon Leicester Square in London Monday. The movie makes it’s debut here in the U.S. on May 30th.

Kristin Davis Will Not Get Naked In Sex In The City Movie

Kristin Davis had to fight to keep her clothes on while filming the Sex In The City movie - because writer/director Michael Patrick King wanted her to get naked. The filmmaker knew he'd never get his star Sarah Jessica Parker to disrobe - because she has a no-nudity clause in her contract - so he called on Kristin to get naughty, alongside Sex's regular exhibitionist Kim Cattrall, who plays maneater Samantha. But David was horrified at the prospect of baring all - even in a shower scene. She says, "He (King) tried to get me to be naked in that shower scene but I feel like I can't do that stuff. I feel really panicky about that stuff."
