Nuestras sxy nenas, aunque faltaba Kristin Davis, se volvieron a reunir en Nueva York. ¿Motivo? El lanzamiento de la versión extendida de la película Sexo en Nueva York en DVD.

Our sxy ladies, even though without Kristin Davis this time, have met again in New York. Reason? The launch of the Extended Cut DVD of Sex and the CIty: The Movie.

Sarah Jessica Parker lució un vestido ajustado de Alexander McQueen. Me gusta tanto el vestido como sus zapatos. Pero este look necesitaría otros guantes, otro maquillaje y un peinado completamente diferente (por favor, si tienes la cara alargada como Sarah Jessica, y si te sirve de consuelo, también pertenezco a este club..., NO a los peinados altos que ópticamente alargarán tu cara aún más).

Sarah Jessica Parker rocked a body hugging dress by Alexander McQueen. Love the dress and her shoes. However, this look would have needed a different pair of gloves, different make-up and completely different hairdo (if your face has the same form like Sarah Jessica's, and I have to confess I'm the member of this club as well..., please say NO to this kind of hairdo that won't help you at all and will make your oval face look even longer).

El vestido de Cynthia Nixon por el material idéntico al de la colección Resort 2009 y por sus preferencias a lo largo de la promoción y estrenos de la peli, supongo que es de Calvin Klein. Si la idea detrás de la elección de su bisutería era que no destacara sino que se "fundiera" con el vestido, lo ha conseguido. Aunque es la mejor peinada de las tres chicas, no es uno de sus mejores peinados.

Cynthia Nixon's dress, because of the material used of the Resort 2009 collection and also following her preferences throughout the promotion of the movie and SATC premieres, I suppose is by Calvin Klein. If the idea behind her necklace was not to attract attention but to "merge" with the dress, she achieved it. Even though her hair is the best out of the three, I don't find one of her all time best.


Kim Cattrall optó por un traje de tercio pelo de Salvatore Ferragamo y la felicito por la elección. Mucho mejor que cualquier vestido que vi en ella desde que empezó la gira promocional de la peli. El color también es fabuloso. No me gusta su peinado y si ya nos quería enseñar su sujetador, podría haber elegido otro que pareciera menos una pieza de lencería que se quiere enseñar por fuerza y más una pieza de lencería que forma parte de este sxy look. Por ejemplo encaje o color morado podrían haber cumplido este objetivo mejor. Nada en contra de la combinación rojo-morado, todo lo contrario (hablo de su esmalte he uñas), pero la mezcla de morado con fucsia igual hubiera quedado más deliciosa.

Kim Cattrall opted for a velvet suit by Salvatore Ferragamo and I love this choice. Much better than any of the dresses I saw on her since the beginning of the promotional tour. The colour is fabulous. Don't like her hair and if she's decided we needed to see her bra, she could have choose a different one - less a piece of lingerie that stands out and more a piece of ligerie that forms a part of this sxy look. For example lace or purple colour could have helped. Nothing against the combination of red and purple, quite the opposite (talking about her nail polish), but the mix of purple and fuchsia would have looked more delicious.


Por la carpeta fucsia pasaron varios compañeros de reparto de nuestras chicas y tampoco faltó Candance Bushell que o a) no se fijó que este vestido de Michael Kors ya lo lucieron tanto Sarah Jessica como Kristin Davis, o b) lo hizo precisamene para recordarnos a Kristin.

On top of our girls, and among others, this fuchsia carpet event was also attended by Candance Bushell that a) either didn't realize this Michael Kors dress was already worn by both Sarah Jessica and Kristin Davis, or b) her idea precisely was to remind us of Kristin.

¿Sabías que ...? va a ser otro de los posts semanales. Cada semanita una curiosidad o algo que me llamó la atención y quiero compartirlo contigo.
Did you know that ...? is going to be another weekly post. Every week a curiosity or something that attracted my attention and want to share with you.

Una de las preguntas importantísimas que se hicieron los creadores de la serie Sexo en Nueva York era: ¿Con tutu o sin tutu? Y hablo sobre el comienzo de cada serie. La secuencia inicial donde aparecen dos de las protagonistas de la serie - la ciudad y Carrie vestida en una camisetita rosa y ahora ya famosísima falfa tutu. La escena la iban a ver los espectadores cada semana, así que la respuesta a la pregunta sobre qué es lo que Carrie llevará puesto era clave. Pat Field y Sarah Jessica vinieron con la idea de que Carrie podría llevar una falda hecha de tul (una idea muy apropiada pues Sarah Jessica de pequeña era bailarina de ballet). Pero el equipo no lo tenía tan claro y para el día de rodaje se prepararon cuatro vestidos diferentes, uno de ellos era un vestido azul cielo de Marc Jacobs. El rodaje era muy complicado logisticamente hablando pues involucraba muchos controles de tráfico en la Quinta Avenida. Empezaron con Carrie vestida en tutu pero como la secuencia incluía el autobus que salpicaba a la protagonista, cuando dieron con la toma perfecta, ya no les quedó el tiempo suficiente para rodar más variaciones. Eso sí, rodaron una con el vestido azul pero sin la escena con el autobús. Hoy nos sería muy difícil imaginar la escena inicial sin la famosísima falta que costó 5 dólares y cuyo original está enmarcado en la oficina de Michael Patrick King y que también volverá a aparecer en la peli.
One of the key questions of the team around the Sex and the City serie was: Tutu or not tutu? I'm talking about the opening sequence in which would appear two of the main caracters - the city and Carrie dressed in a pink tank top and today super famous tutu skirt. People were going to see the scenes every week, so the answer to the question was really important. Pat Field and Sarah Jessica came up with the idea of Carrie waring a tulle skirt (idea especially appropriate for Sarah Jessica since she had been a ballerina when she was a girl). But the opinions within the team were so mixed that four different dresses were brought to the set on shooting day, one of them was a sky-blue Marc Jacobs dress. The shooting was complicated because it involved so much traffic control on Finth avenue. They started with Carrie in tutu but spent so much time shooting the bus splash sequence, they didn't have enough time to shoot another versions but the one with the blue dress without the bus splash. Today it would be difficult to imagine the opening without this famous 5 dollar tutu skirt which original was framed in glass in Michael Patrick King's office and that also makes a cameo in the movie.

La serie comenzó y terminó con una falda de tul. Creo que la elección del vestido de Sarah Jessica para la primera carpeta roja (aunque no puedo decir que me encantó) no era nada casual. ¿O crees que sí?
The serie began and finished with a tulle skirt. I think the dress choice for the first red carpet for Sarah Jessica (even though I was not crazy about it) was not a pure coincidence. Or you think it was?

Y más flower power dentro de la revista. Sarah Jessica en Dior, Cynthia lleva Tuleh, Kim viste Blumarine y para Kristin eligieron un vestido de Roberto Cavalli. Los últimos dos no me acuerdo haberlos visto en las pasarelas. Eso sí, en la campaña de Roberto Cavalli para la próxima temorada aparece un vestido con el mismo estampado.

I don't remember seeing the two latter ones on the catwalks but there is a dress with the same print as Kristin's featured in the Roberto Cavalli Fall 2008 campaign.

This season hit: Timmy Woods Eiffel Tower bag

Cuando unos días después de haber compartido contigo las primeras imagenes del rodaje de Sexo en Nueva York, the pregunté si querías un bolso como el de Carrie, no me imaginaba que este accesorio tan peculiar se va a convertir en el accesorio de este verano.
When some days after having shared the first images from the Sex and the City shooting, I asked you whether you'd want a bag like Carrie's, I would have never reckoned this peculiar bag would be such a hit.

El bolso lo puedes comprar en dos versiones. La más económica son 450$. La de Carrie con cristales Swarovski te saldría a 3.000$. Pues desde que salieron las primeras fotos de Carrie abrazando a Mr. Big, Timmy Woods - la diseñadora del bolso - vendió ¡unos 1000 de la primera y otros 150 bolsos de la segunda versión (este bolso lleva incrustados unos 6.300 cristales de Swarovski y se tarda casi dos meses en finalizarlo)! La diseñadora lleva creando sus originales bolsos desde hace doce años y la torre se ha convertido en uno de sus cinco best sellers desde que empezó. Su catálogo actual contiene aproximadamente 100 modelos diferentes.

Una de las últimas apariencias de Sarah Jessica Parker ha sido la de Early Show en CBS. "Quiero hablar sobre la película, porque muy poca gente me pregunta sobre ella," bromeaba. El vestido elegido para esta ocasión ha sido creado por Peter Soronen.
One of the latest appearances of Sarah Jessica Parker was on CBS' The Early Show. "I want to talk about the film, because very few people have asked me about it," Parker joked to Early Show host Harry Smith. The dress chosen for this occasion was created by Peter Soronen.

Hablando de Sarah Jessica Parker... Me preguntastéis por qué nunca hablé del estreno en Nueva York. A ver si me explico... Cuatro mujeres maravillosas famosas por haber sido las protagonistas de la serie más fashion de la pequeña pantalla. Por lo tanto cuatro "proyectos" muy apetecibles cada uno por otra razón. Cuatro proyectos por los que se mueren los estilistas. Cuatro proyectos bombones. Cuatro proyectos mal ejecutados... y con esto nomino a los estilistas de mis nenas a que abandonen la academia. Y mi pregunta siempre será la misma: ¿cómo es posible que teniendo la posibilid de tener cualquier prenda de cualquier diseñador de cualquier parte del mundo (les) eligieron lo que (les) eligieron? Cynthia puso el nivel muy alto con su súper sxy vestido de Calvin Klein en Londres pero era el único que me llamó la atención... Para Kristin se eligió lo de siempre... Kim "se casó" con Vivienne Westwood lo cual no es malo, lo malo era ver los vestidos que no le favorecían nada de nada de nada y era cada cual peor... Y Sarah Jessica... ay mi queridísima Sarah Jessica... tenía elegidos 40 modelitos para las carpetas rojas y encuentros con periodistas. 40 diferentes outfits y EL vestido que finalmente vemos en LA carpeta roja (que sí que el vestido es muy bonito, que sí que le quedaba como el guante, que sí que estaba guapísima pero este no es el punto) es un vestido que lució otra celebrity (y no de su categoría y eso es aún más grave) unas semanas antes... en el evento que se considera la party del año o sea no cualquier eventillo... ¿Cómo se le pudo escapar este detalle a su estilista Tracy Cox? (haber preguntado a cualquier blogger...). Pues por eso... que me sigue molestando (y sé que no puedo hacer nada pero me sigue fastidiando, ¿a tí no?) que existe gente que baila maravillosamente, canta como nadie, gente que nació con un don para escribir, pintar, ... gente que nace estilista, chef... y por mucho que trabaje y se deje la piel no consigue su sueño y luego hay gente que está en el sitio adecuado en el momento oportuno y aunque no llegan a la altura de los antriormente mencionados, se lo llevan todo. Pues eso es lo que me decepcionó. Y no quería sacar el tema pero tampoco puedo pasar de vuestras preguntas. Cuatro proyectos que te mueres. Cuatro ejecuciones que no tienen ni gran idea, ni gran chispa, ni gran sorpresa (algunos si miras las fotos de todas las apariencias en programas, ruedas de prensa y carpetas fucsia, ni el hilo conductor). Si tanto aprecian a Pat Field por saber contar las historias con la ropa elegida para cualquier momento, ¿dónde está todo lo que aprendieron de ella? Para mí estas cuatro ejecuciones no están a la altura de Sexo en Nueva York. Que han llevado vestidos guapos. Sí. Algunos. Pero un proyecto es como un puzzle. Consiste de pequeños trocitos pero el resultado final es un gran visual claro, estrategicamente pensado y minuciosamente planificado desde el comienzo. Estos cuatro puzzles ya no tienen arreglo. Y si soy la única del mundo a la que le parece que no dieron la talla que así sea. No haberme tirado de la lengua ;o))
Talking about Sarah Jessica Parker... I got quite a lot of questions of yours about why I've never mentioned anything about the big premiere in New York. I'm going to try to explain myself... Four fabulous women famous (especially) because of starring in the most fashionable serie of all times (all the new series face the question: "Does this pretend to be a new Sex and the City?"). Thus four very tempting "projects". Four projects any stylist is dying for. Four projects "bonbons". For badly executed projects... My question will remain the same: how come you chose (or somebody choses for your) what you've chosen if you can chose anything from any designer from any part of the planet? When I saw Cynthia in her super sxy Calvin Klein gown I was like wau if she wears this one for the first premiere, this is going to be something... it wasn't... Kristin is rocking the same kind of dresses all the time... Kim "got married" to Vivienne Westwood, which is not bad, the bad thing was to see her in dresses that were not flattering at all... from bad to worst... And Sarah Jessica... oh my beloved Sarah Jessica... there were 40 outfits chosen for her for red carpet events and press junkets. 40 different outfits and the dress we finally see on THE red carpet (yes the dress is lovely, yes it's very flattering, yes she looked amazing but this is not the point) is a dress another celebrity (and not A-list celebrity and this is even more serious) only some weeks ago... and the event is considered the party of the year, not any small event... How come her stylist Tracy Cox missed this "detail"? (could have asked any of the bloggers...). I know I can't do anything about it but is annoying (don't feel like it?) that there are people that dance like Gods, sing like nobody else, people that were born with a talent for writing, painting... people that were born stylists, chefs... and even they put everything in doing what they love and keep trying very hard, they never make they dream reality and then there are people that are at the right place at the right moment and even though they don't measure up those I mentioned before, they "take it all". So this is what I'm feeling when I see my four girls. And I didn't want to talk about it but what I can't do is to ignore your questions. Four proyects TDF. Four executions without big idea and big surprises. If they appreciate Pat Field as a fantastic story teller through the outfits she choses for each "appearance", where is all they've learned from her? For me this four executions are not measuring up Sex and the City level. That they've been rocking nice dresses. Yes. Some of them. But each proyect is like a puzzle. It consists of many small pieces but the final result is a BIG picture. Clear and strategically thought and planned picture since the very beginning. These four puzzles are not the case. And if I'm the only one thinking they didn't make the grade so let's be it. Shouldn't have dragged it out of me ;o))

Beyoncé ayer en Paris (¿la veremos en Cannes también?). De vuelta a la ciudad de los enamorados y una vez más en Chanel.

Beyoncé adora la marca. Hasta tal punto que últimamente son "inseparables". Gafas, bolsos, ropa, complementos, zapatos.
She adores the label. To the point Chanel and herself became "inseparable" lately. Sunglasses, bags, clothing, accessories, shoes.



A veces opta por complementar su look con un bolso o gafas, otras tantas prefiere Chanel total look que parece haber salido de la pasarela. Y aunque es una de mis favoritas, estoy de acuerdo con los que dicen que, en cuanto a sus estilismos, no siempre acierta y también que muchas veces menos hubiera sido más...
